Helicopter Showdown

The four person Bay Area production force known as Helicopter Showdown has earned the reputation in the underground bass music culture as "Wu Tang" of Dubstep. These West coast bass monsters have been turning heads and crashing parties worldwide with their unique blend of heavy dubstep and melodic electro house. Having dominated the Bay Area bass music scene over the past year, HS has been called out of their homeland to perform and curate events all over the country in cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Baltimore, Denver, Philadelphia, Seattle, Houston, Detroit, and Las Vegas to name a few. Supported by such highly respected artists as Rusko, Borgore, Mt. Eden, Calvertron, Skism, Downlink, and Reid Speed amongst others, their music is quickly being recognized everywhere from the most distinguished UK dubstep pioneers to the smaller pockets of bassheads in middle USA. In the last year, after teaming up with close friend, collaborator, and UltraGore label mate/owner Sluggo, the HS crew smashed their way onto the Beatport charts with their debut release "The Wrestler" [Ultragore], followed by "Hostages" [Ultragore] and most recently "Holy Ghost" [Play Me] feat. MC Messinian. Recently HS has become even more of a household name in the Beatport Dubstep charts, planting themselves firm within the top 20 with their latest release "Drop It Again" with Calvertron off the "Flight or Fight EP" [Play Me]. They are currently finishing up their next Ultragore EP with Sluggo featuring the fresh vocal talents of Bryan Dallas and Young Aunde, and have a laundry list of collaborations in store that will make 2012 a marquee year for them. Helicopter Showdown also stands out from the rest of the bass community due in part to their reputation for holding their fans in the highest regard, proving their love through their consistent efforts to give away FREE music; with highly acclaimed releases "Gucci Gucci (Helicopter Showdown & IB Remix)" [US Dubstep], "Waiting" with BoyKidCloud [Squitty Bubbler], "Dramatron" [Squitty Bubbler Most Popular 2011], "Beat Down" [Squitty Bubbler Most Popular January 2011] and the classic "Whistle Tips" with Point.blank [Dubsaw/Squitty Bubbler Most Popular October 2010] all given gratis to their hungry fanbase. HS even takes it one step farther, giving away free downloads of their signature sounds and production templates. With their dedication to production, their fans, and taking their four person team onto the stage and turning any given party into a full blown event, keep a close eye on Helicopter Showdown as they bring the party from the West Coast underground to a city near you.

Antiserum

Antiserum (aka Mike Schumer) is an electronic producer and musician from San Francisco, whose originating style of West Coast bass music emerged during the dawn of the Bay Area dubstep movement. His music is characterized by the use of heavy drums, rolling bass lines, and distinct melodies, with a tight production style that gives nods to underground hip-hop, soul, nuerofunk, reggae, and metal. His live DJ performances oscillate between high-octane mixes and emotional progressions, built around new and unreleased material with a focus on high energy and dance floor appeal. Reaching a prominent international audience through Beatport in 2008, Antiserum landed the 8th best-selling dubstep track of the year. His first tour launched in 2009 to Australia and New Zealand, which set forth a whole new fan base and realm of inspiration that brought him back for a second tour two years later. By the start of 2011, he released The Swarm EP with Rottun Recordings, opened for Excision and Downlink on first full-scale dubstep production to hit the US: the 30-show Subsonic Tour. He was picked up by Caspa's Dub Police label with his collaborative renditions of the West Coast's own "purple" sound, featuring the tracks "Zephyr" and "Purple & Gold" with Los Angeles dubstep warrior 12th Planet and the multi-faceted ill-Esha. Antiserum's dynamic production style has also sparked collaborations with electronic artists Eskmo, DJG, ill-esha, Noah D, Triage, Mayhem, Dubsworth, Vinja, and Babylon System. Aside from his regular live DJ performances, Antiserum has also guest lectured and performed at Ex'pression College for Digital Arts in the Bay Area. 2012 stands as Antiserum's biggest year thus far, landing his collaborative track "Droid Prom" with live musician Dubsworth in the opening scenes of the CSI: Miami episode "Friendly Fire", and releasing his co-production with 12th Planet titled "Ghost" on The End is Near EP by Scion A/V (including tracks by Skrillex, Flinch, SPL, and Kill the Noise). Antiserum's most recent 2-track release with ill-Esha features "Overflow" & "Lightning" on the Dutch imprint, Subway and his forthcoming releases will be out to make a second impact once again on Dub Police & Rottun. His debut full-length album is currently in the works!

Clicks & Whistles

Clicks & Whistles have been carving out a unique sound blending Southern Rap, Juke, and elements of Drum & Bass since their first official release in August 2010. The Charlotte based duo is comprised of professional programmer Jorge Hernandez (Hey Whore Hey) and classically trained Petey Evans (PeteyClicks). The two have a slew of notable releases including the heavily remixed "Neva Get Caught" on T&A Records, "Cranberry Goose EP" on Distal's Atlanta based Embassy Imprint, and "Can't Believe EP" on AC Slater's Label – Party Like Us. Great taste and selection combined with honed production skills gives this group prowess in both quality and efficiency in the studio and has lead to some huge Dirty South and Club Anthem remixes. With a heavy touring schedule and a stack of upcoming releases, the sound of Clicks & Whistles is sure to be in your ears and coming to a city near you. "…a trunk-rattling approach to the hottest trends in underground electronic music." – Mishka NYC "There's just enough in this hyphy track to make me lose my shit already over Clicks & Whistles' upcoming EP." – Noisey Music by VICE Magazine "Dirty South samples and soaring video game synths slice through the air on these tracks" – FACT Magazine "…offers a massive-yet-soothing bassline with its innumerable layers of cosmic melodies." – XLR8R "[Southern Slaw] fits in perfectly with its twisted beats that engages you with its big bombastic concoction. It's so big that it'll hypnotize you into a dancing frenzy within the first few seconds." – Prefix
